Hurricane Helene devastated North Carolina and some surrounding areas, leaving many without shelter, clothing, and other essentials. In response, community members have stepped up to bring hope and relief, showing the true power of compassion and unity in difficult times.
A Community Effort for Immediate Relief
A family friend of Prestige leadership reached out to discuss some of the work she has been doing with a few local organizations in order to help those in need after the devastating storms. Once we heard about the efforts, Prestige decided to donate items to support the relief. These items included baby supplies, diapers, warm clothing, bedding, towels, and blankets. At the end of the day, over 15 Prestige employees were able to contribute to this drive. We hope to have played a small role in the relief, but more importantly, hope this message will encourage other businesses to reach out and make donations as well.
The types of donations that are most needed include baby supplies, diapers, warm clothing, bedding, towels, blankets, and any other items to help people stay warm throughout the upcoming winter months. They are also accepting many other items like TVs, toys, and household essentials that are in good condition and could bring a little comfort to displaced families. In addition, monetary donations are being accepted, which will be used to buy specific items in need from thrift stores.
Thanks to the efforts of Global Environmental, local organizations, and community members like Robyn and Betty, donations are reaching those who need them most. They are working with local sheriff’s departments and churches to get these items distributed. Despite challenges with flooded roads and remote areas, the dedication of those involved has ensured that aid is delivered safely and effectively. From blankets and jackets to children’s toys, every item collected brings warmth, comfort, and hope to families as they try to rebuild their lives.
